What is WoWUK?

Women of Wine UK (WoWUK) is a professional organisation of women involved in the wine & spirits trade. The purpose of WoWUK is to promote the professional success of women by providing them with opportunities for professional development. WoWUK provides numerous opportunities for networking, education and training throughout the year. It is run by a group of fabulous women: all volunteers.

WoWUK was launched in 2005 with Jancis Robinson OBE MW as its founding patron and now has more than 160 members.

Mission

Promote the professional success of women in the wine & spirits trade through all their career phases, from potential through to power by networking, educating and mentoring.

WOWUK's goals are to:

• Provide a platform of connections, resources and opportunities for women involved in or with the UK wine, spirits and food trade by organising events, a website, scholarships, a mentoring program, debates, an online network of women and educational trips.
• Promote a global network of women in the wine and spirits trade to expand opportunities across borders by building links with other womens professional organisations worldwide.
• Encourage companies to recognise the necessity of diverse and innovative approaches by promoting womens success stories (what they did new and differently)
• Raise the volume of womens voices by increasing womens presence in the media and public life (debates, conferences...)
